Further evidence that in my past life I was a housewife

I just realized something. The sound of a dishwasher humming and draining and its overall general racket is something that comforts me. In my mind, it means that earlier I must have done something for my family in the kitchen that made enough of a mess that I needed to utilize one final appliance. It means that I spent time in my kitchen doing something other than eating Dibs right out of the carton. I like that.

Yep, I'm a freak.

Then I must be a freak too. I love that it signals the end of the night for us and I know that I will wake up to a clean kitchen. All is right in my world when I have clean floors and a clean kitchen!

Being the son of a mother who never cooked—which was great since she burned everything she’d put on a stove or in a oven—and the ex-husband of a women who decided that each member of the family should do their own housework (my sons began washing their on clothes when they were six), I am now happy to live in an extreme bachelor mess that please me to no end.

I TOTALLY know what you mean, and I also love it when the heater comes on for the first time during winter. If that makes us freaks, then so be it! Oh, and thanks for stalking my blog, it makes me happy!
