When did TV get so fucking horrible?

OK, so my main goal over the next 14 days is to watch 12 disks of the Gilmore Girls in order to be up to date when season 7 starts on September 26. I am gonna go out on a limb and say that it won't happen so I have decided to just tape (yeah, I am the ONE person who lacks DVR) the season opener until I can catch up. Now, let's be clear, I can for sure watch 2 entire seasons in 14 days. The question is whether Netfl*x will allow me to turn over my movies that fast. They have slowed my ass down before when I was flipping disks back to them all rapid fire and shit. Bastards. They are lucky I am a movie/old tv show whore. Tonight I'd be loving to have SOMETHING from the flix considering there is nada on tv. The only thing I am even remotely interested in is SVU. Dancing with the Stars holds no allure for me. Watching Joey "Whoa" Lawrence dance around with his freakishly bald head gives me the heebs, ok?

Oh, and while we are on tv, for those of you that poo poo soaps, shut it. Y&R is the best damn thing on tv right now. Today's episode proved that shit. Nothing beats watching a "grieving" widow of about 2 weeks belt out tunes such as "My Funny Valentine" on a rooftop. I mean, really, that's good tv right there.

My weekend was quiet. The hubs and I went to go see Hollywoodland. Pretty good flick, liked the story, Adrian Brody was cool. However, poor Ben Affleck. He has no shot. He will always be Ben. He can change his mannerisms, his voice inflections, his hair line, his profile and he is still Ben Affleck. It comes screaming through the screen. He tried his damnedest to capture George Reeves, and he ALMOST DID, but in the end, he's Ben. Poor thing. Still a good flick though. Go see it.

Saturday the hubs worked I think. Yeah, he did, so I worked and then chilled that night. I ended up in a desperate bid to have something to do that did not actually mean I had to leave the sofa, drove myself up to the enemy, Blockbu**er and got the entire second season of Laguna Beach. Again, shut it. That shit was good. Nothing is more entertaining than bitchy rich girls. Sunday I cleaned house and watched some football with the hubs. Of course, that night, was Manning Bowl. Jesus I am ready for one of them to like go AWAY. Since they are from here, they are shoved down our throats something awful. It is so fucking annoying. I mean, yep, they are both good, probably on their ways to hall of fame careers but there are other players out there too. And some of them are fucking Steelers, ok? Get your damn priorities straight.

Monday I just went to the post office and stood in line forever. That place is a JOKE. I fail to understand the logic behind having a line out the door (I'm not exaggerating) and opening 3 of the 5 windows. If someone understands that math, then school me please.

This weekend is the hubs birthday. I am taking him somewhere on Sunday as a surprise. I can't say where in case he sees this, but suffice it to say he will love it. He is hard to surprise so I am pumped I am actually gonna pull this off. He will be 40. So really, we are just gonna go sign his ass up for the AARP. Surprise, hon.

Oh, speaking of the gook with whom I reside, he is now coming with me to Genuflector Class. I think I may have mentioned this last week, but it bears repeating. I am shocked he is coming because he is not all the hyped up on book learnin'. I mean, he is not stupid, but sitting and listening to someone talk for an hour and that person is male and not in a Hooters uniform? Not so much for him. I am proud of him for coming though. Maybe he will make a quick u-turn before hitting hell. Of course, chances are that is where I will be, so whatever.

I went to brunch Sunday and after tip, this nice meal cost us $42 a person. Um, what? I did not drink. Not one glass of champagne. I mean, I did eat roughly half my body weight in bacon, but still....... I won't be frequenting that particular establishment again.

Work is going well. I am still trying to slow down but seriously, according to their requirements, I could have flat out stopped working 4 hours into my day. I mean, that is cool but I feel weird like chilling for half my work day so I still slowed way down but went way above in my production than where I am estimated to be skill wise. Whatever. If they pitch a fit, then I'll fucking chill 4 hours a day. That will really break my heart.

Dad had a consultation with the oncologist today. His surgery went really well and they cleaned out one side of the gunk. Today he was going to make the appt to get a PET scan to see how bad the cancer is and then figure out a treatment plan with the doctor. I am curious to hear what he has to say. I hope it's good news.

OK, I have a chat date with my cousin in a few. Y'all have a looooooooooovely evening. Latah.

God bless the Gilmore Girls. I take it you don't watch Scrubs? I feel that their writing is equally as witty and fresh as the GG.

Hope your lunch was fab!
