  • Students use IM lingo in essays

  • Proof positive that our nation is going to hell in a handbasket. This is pathetic.

That is so bad I go to my sister's myspace page and have to sit there and translate what she has written, just because I have no idea what the hell the kids are saying these days. Makes me feel old!

I KNOW! If I were a teacher, those kids would be getting that shit right back to do over.

Well the teachers just have to crack down on it. I agree w/ Kami

    I hate people.

It's nothing but the kids being smartasses. They know better!

This drives me insane! I teach a class to college freshmen and I see it all the time! How do they get the idea that this is acceptable? Are they allowed to do it in high school? I warn them the first day of class that any assignments turned in using "internet shorthand" will be an automatic failing grade for that assignment. But yet I still see it.

Pathetic isn't a strong enough word for this! Frightening might be a better one!

So sad - if I catch my kids doing that crap - I am gonna cut them off from the "techno world" until they can do it right....that being said...TTYL
